Role and functions

Activities Summary of TSA division

TSA division is responsible for conformance and interoperability testing of IPv6 in various products as per IPv6 Ready Logo test specifications. At present the TSA Division is also entrusted with the task of setting up of Telecom Security Test Lab in TEC New Delhi. TSA Division is having an NGN transport lab and also IPv6 Ready Logo approved lab.

Focus Areas

  • IPv6 Conformance and interoperability testing as per IPv6 Ready Logo test specifications.
  • Examination of test results as per IPv6 Ready Logo standards.
  • Conformance testing of various L2 to L3 protocols as per international standards.
  • Functional testing of L4 to L7 protocols including VoIP protocols.
  • Setting up of Telecom Security Test Lab and related studies.
  • Preparation of Study papers / White Papers on NGN and Telecom Security related issues.

Current Activities

  • Preparatory action for setting up of Telecom Security Test Lab.
  • Testing of various products in NGN transport lab.
  • Testing of products on IPv6 Ready Logo test bed
  1. ii) Duties of officers and employees:

 DDG (TSA):DDG (TSA) is responsible for overall management and  administration of the TSA Division, Main activities include:

  1. Formation and approval of Annual Action Plan, distribution of activities.
  2. Approval of various documents, minutes of meetings, etc
  3. Coordination, finalization and monitoring of development of various documents
  4. Formation and conduction of meetings of NWG-17 committees
  5. Timely furnishing technical inputs to and attending meetings in various other departments and organizations, viz., DoT, BSNL, MTNL, C-DoT, TRAI, and carrying out technical interactions with ITU, APT, TRAI, DEITY, and other Telecom Stakeholders, as and when required
  6. Co-ordination for Testing of products arriving in the lab via RTECs as per the test specifications mentioned in TEC GR/IR and testing against IPv6 Ready Logo test specifications
  7. Timely Completion of all activities assigned to TSA Division
  8. Co-ordination with IPv6 Ready Logo in administrative matters
  9. General administration of the division

 Director(TSA):Director (TSA) is responsible for overall activities  management and administration of the TSA Division. Main activities include:

  1. Preparation and execution of annual action plan.
  2. Monitoring of testing activities carried out in NGN transport lab and IPv6 Ready Logo lab
  3. As a technical member of IPv6 Ready Logo Committee, is responsible for examination of test results.
  4. Co-ordination and preparation of various study papers on the topics assigned to TSA division.
  5. Preparation of technical inputs to various other departments and organizations, viz., DoT, BSNL, MTNL, C-DoT, TRAI, DEITY, and other Telecom Stakeholders, as and when required
  6. Timely Completion of all activities assigned to TSA Division
  7. Preparation of Implementation plan for mandatory testing
  8. General administration of the division

 ADET(TSA): ADET(TSA) is responsible for

  1. Operation and maintenance of NGN transport lab and IPv6 Ready Logo test lab.
  2. Testing of various products in NGN transport lab and IPv6 Ready Logo test lab.
  3. Preparation of study papers on the topics assigned to TSA division
  4. Preparing agenda and minutes of meeting for NWG-17 meetings
  5. Preparation of various reports related to TSA division
