Registration of Importers mandatory on Customs Portal ICEGATE, for submission of MTCTE Certificate

Attention of importers of Telecom Equipment and other concerned is drawn to Custom’s  Circular No 35/2018-Customs issued vide Department of Revenue number 450/148/2015-Cus-IV dated 1.10.2018, wherein all the importers/ exporters, Customs brokers or any other beneficiary transacting with Customs have been requested to come forward and register on ICEGATE. A detailed procedure on registration is available at ICEGATE website under the path www.icegate.gov.in > Downloads > Registration Demo. Under eSANCHIT component of Custom’s Single Window Interface for facilitating Trade (SWIFT), the system allows a trader to submit all supporting documents for clearance of consignments electronically with digital signatures.

In compliance of this circular, MTCTE certificates shall be directly uploaded by TEC to ICEGATE through eSANCHIT. On uploading of the certificate, a unique IRN (Image reference number) will be generated by the system and the same will be communicated to the beneficiary. For availing this facility, the email id of the beneficiaries registered with ICEGATE will be used. Once the facility of uploading the document on eSANCHIT is fully implemented, the beneficiaries (importer/ exporter) will not be allowed to upload such documents themselves.

Accordingly, importers of Telecom Equipment and other concerned are requested to comply with the requirements of Custom’s, as communicated through the said letter. It is reiterated that MTCTE certificates, even though available for download through MTCTE portal, shall not be accepted on Custom’s portal from the importers directly.
