Request for Budgetary Quotations for establishment of Security Test lab at TEC, New Delhi

The licensing cell (AS cell) of the Department of Telecommunications, India has issued various licenses under UASL, Basic Service and CMTS categories to various operators for provision and expansion of Telecom Services in various licensed service areas of the country. These licenses have been amended from time to time due to various security related concerns. The AS cell, DoT vide letters dated 31st May 2011 have amended the existing clauses of these licenses to address a few major security related issues. As per licensing conditions it is mandatory to have security certification from authorized and certified labs in India from 1st April 2018.

Also as per Gazette notification no. G.S.R 1131(E) dated 05th September 2017 related to Mandatory Testing & Certification of Telecom Equipment every telecom equipment must undergo mandatory testing and certification prior to sale, import for use in India. The testing will be done on basis of Essential Requirements comprising both Technical requirements and Security requirements.

 In view of above, it is important to have the necessary security testing setup in the country for effective implementation of MTCTE so that the testing and certification is done within the country. TEC is initiating the process of setting up a security test lab.
